Who We Are

Our Mission

Our mission is to raise awareness of the damaging effect plastic and other pollutants are having on our planet.By helping people make a few lifestyle changes, we aim to encourage positive change for our planet.

It started with Jim Mangrum…

I remember when I was a teenager in the 70s, reading an interview in the New Musical  Express. It was  with Jim Mangrum, lead singer with the southern rock group “Black Oak Arkansas”.

I read he was concerned about the effect aerosol propellant and other pollutants, was having on the ozone layer.

Before then, I hadn’t been aware of the damage that human activity can have on the environment. In fact it wasn’t until much later that the ozone layer issue became big news. As a result, industries started looking at greener alternatives.

Most of us don’t act until we are directly affected.

By then it was too late, the damage had been done and sales in sun protection creams boomed as the skin cancer rate rocketed. Alarmingly skin cancer rates have more than doubled since the 90s in the UK.

It seems that whatever we hear and read, most of us don’t act until we are directly affected. By then it could be too late.

We face many environmental issues today and many of them are interrelated. The greenhouse gases  produced in the manufacture of things like plastic for example, and the damage that plastic does to our environment.

We can, together make a big difference

But if we all make small changes in our lives, such as buying natural alternatives to synthetic products, we can, together, make a huge difference.

For instance, if only 100 of us made a few easy changes, we could reduce our use of plastic by around 150,000 items a year.

It’s easy for us all to become Ecosaviours!
